This painting was inspired while I was getting sketches and photos in the Grand Teton Range. The day was intermittently cloudy and sunny. The atmosphere was magical, and once in a while there was a rain shower. I got so wet but loved every minute. This is when you can capture the most amazing cloudy and sunlit effects.

I saw several majestic elk that day. It felt natural for them to be included in this painting.
